Mission Statement: To Know Christ and to Make Him Known

Welcome to The Oxford and Litle River Baptist Churches - Serving the surrounding community since as early as 1847.

A Covenantal Body

Baptists have long been covenantal people. We believe the church is the embodiment of Christ’s body in the world, and, as members, we have certain responsibilities to one another and to the church. These responsibilities come from our being in a relationship with the Head of the Church as well as with one another. Here at Oxford and Little River, we focus on being the body of Christ, not doing church, therefore our focus is not on a constitution but a covenant we try to live out in our fellowship with one another.

Church Covenant

“Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, we do now in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.”

“Having entered freely into membership in this church, the local gathering of Christ’s body together, I covenant with all

* that I will treasure membership in this church as a gift,
* that I will be a unifying member of this church,
* that I will be a functioning member of this church
* that I will not let this church be about me, my preferences and my desires,
* that I will teach my family to be good, healthy members of this church,
* and that I will faithfully pray for the leadership of this church.”
